Coffee Business Consultant & Author

Scott Rao has been in the coffee business since 1993. He is the author of the groundbreaking books The Professional Barista’s Handbook, Everything But Espresso, and The Coffee Roaster’s Companion. 

He has owned several successful cafes and roasting companies and has spent the past ten years writing and consulting for coffee businesses globally. Scott Rao has worked with many of the world’s most famous roasters and has by now roasted coffee on well over 300 roasting machines.

He invented the concept of “development time ratio” and pioneered the concept of a steadily-declining ROR curve.
